Dr. Martin is a private-practice dentist and serves as a consultant to the Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice and Virginia Department of Rehabilitative Services. Notably, Dr. Martin is designated as the Primary Ryan White Dental Provider in Richmond, Virginia. Along with his private practice, Dr. Martin has served as a visiting educator for the Stavanger School (Norway), the American Dental Society of Europe (Copenhagen, Denmark), Medical College of Virginia (Academy of General Dentistry Fellowship Program), and the City of Suffolk, Virginia.
“Extensive” is how one would characterize Dr. Martin’s work as it relates to health, education, and community activism. He offers his services to the Head Start programs of Richmond and Henrico (Virginia); Virginia Rehabilitative Services; Chesterfield County AIDS Medical Support Team; Board of Trustees for the Mediterranean Society of America; Central Virginia Business and Professionals Guild; Fan Free Clinic; and the Richmond Organization for Sexual Minority Youth. Additionally, Dr. Martin has served on the Board of Directors as Secretary to the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association, worked with the Development Committee of GLMA and has donated his time to the Tour De Friends, DC AIDS Ride, and GLSEN.
Dr. Martin received his D.D.S. from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry, and B.S. – Biology from College of William and Mary (Williamsburg, VA). To further his professional skills, Dr. Martin has engaged in supplemental education at Bowman Gray School of Medicine (Wake Forest University), Virginia Commonwealth University, University of Zurich, University of Alabama, and the University of North Carolina.
Dr. Martin maintains membership in the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Society, and the Richmond Dental Association.
